As Labor Day weekend comes to a close, we are very thankful to all of our hard-working volunteers and staff members who genuinely impact the lives of our veteran and military communities. The challenges facing our service members, veterans, and their families can often be daunting. USASOA strives to ensure that we do our very best to ensure that they are treated as our greatest national treasures. We could not fulfill our grassroots mission without the incredible generosity of our donors and supporters; you make a difference in the lives of countless service members and veterans. Thank you!!!!

On Saturday, October 24, 2020, USASOA held our DRIVE THRU FOOD DRIVE to collect much needed food for our elderly veterans who are food insecure and our often forgotten homeless veterans in the Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia areas. The staff and volunteers of USASOA would like to thank the Knights of Columbus in Bethesda, Maryland for partnering with our nonprofit organization in allowing us to use their large parking lot to hold this important mission of mercy.
We raised over $2300.00 worth of food which our volunteers delivered directly to the VA Homeless Shelter and Resource Center, 1500 Franklin St. NE., Washington, DC 20018. For the past 8 years, our organization has held monthly food collection drives to support our most vulnerable veterans. Our Homeless Outreach Program has directly impacted the life of our most vulnerable veterans. That very evening, our veterans in need were eating a good meal.
In the Washington, DC area alone, we have over 1500 elderly veterans who lack the food necessary to live a healthy, dignified and secure life - a life that they have earned and deserve. The unique aspect of supplying food to this particular VA shelter is that they share their food and other essential items of life with the surrounding Maryland and Northern Virginia areas.
We also want to thank Kevin Morton. VA Director at the VA Homeless Shelter and Resource Center in DC for supporting our organizations efforts to through our Homeless Veterans Outreach programs. USASOA offers all Americans who want to direct impact the quality of life for our most vulnerable veterans the opportunity to contribute to help end the national tragedy of veteran homelessness.
