We need volunteers to assemble our annual Winter Survival Kits For Our Homeless Veterans living on the streets of Washington, DC, and in VA Transitional Housing Units. please consider donating.
Also, consider bringing the following items or hosting a collection drive for the items we need to fill the survival kits.
List of Items Needed: Please be mindful that we need various sizes for both men and women.
Warm hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and hoodies.
Bottled water, Gator-Aide, or powdered drink mixes.
Nonperishable food such as protein and breakfast bars and healthy snack items.
Any microwavable food items for homeless veterans living in VA Transitional Housing Units.
Toiletries: regular and trial sizes: razors for men and women, shaving cream, baby wipes, hand soap, body wash, and shampoo, foot powders, single toothbrushes and toothpaste, mouth wash, hand and foot warmers, personal hygiene items for ladies.
Please sign up below to attend. We will serve a hot meal for all volunteers, so come hungry. Since we will use this form to get a total count of how much food we will need for all volunteers, only sign up if you will be attending. This event is also kid-friendly; it is a way to teach children what it means to give back and to show our gratitude for those who served our nation and are now in need of our care, compassion, and support.
OUR OFFICE IS LOCATED ON CAPITOL HILL IN DC IN A SECURE BUILDING. A USASOA STAFF MEMBER WILL BE STATIONED IN OUR BUILDING’S LOBBY TO BRING YOU TO OUR FLOOR.
