The Rev. Father Brian Vander Wel was born and raised in Western Michigan. He graduated from Calvin College (now University) in 1990 with a B.A. in Philosophy and from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in 1999 with an M.Div with Honors. He is husband to Beth and father to Doug, and he has been serving Christ Church Accokeek as her Rector since 2007. In November of 2022 he became a Benedictine oblate of Holy Cross Monastery in Chicago, IL.
