Feeding Homeless Veterans - Soup & Sandwich Satrudays (Copy)

  • United Soldiers and Sailors of America 300 New Jersey Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

At USASOA, we believe in grassroots efforts to accomplish our mission. We meet veterans where they are in life’s journey. Every month our volunteers roll up their sleeves to provide much-needed items: toiletries, food, and clothing to our homeless and at-risk elderly veterans.

Our organization can provide and distribute food, toiletries, and clothing to veterans in need through our multi-faceted food collection drives, online food donations through our AMAZON FOOD PANTRY, and donated funding. Our distribution process includes making sandwiches every Saturday morning that our volunteer hand delivers to homeless veterans on the streets and veterans living in transitional housing units. We also provide food and other essentials to the Department of Veterans Affairs Homeless Shelter and Resource Center in Northeast Washington, DC.

We encourage other nonprofits, businesses, schools, corporations, places of worship, and the general public to join us in our Capitol Hill office on Saturday mornings to make sandwiches and assemble care packages for veterans who have earned and deserve our care, compassion, and support.
