The goal of OpReboot is to bring together service members and veterans in the spirit of comradery within a bond of shared experiences. This year we have a full list of focus driven activities and events aimed toward combating loneliness and isolation utilizing the bond of unity to build strength and hope for every member,
It's generally understood that helping others makes a person feel nice, but that experience goes beyond just the feel-good glow of altruism. Studies have found that helping others has
tangible benefits, both mental and physical, from lowering your blood pressure to reducing feelings of depression. Research has also shown that there's evidence that volunteer work promotes psychological well-being. Volunteering is linked to improvements in factors like depressive symptoms, purpose in life,
and feelings of optimism.
There's also prevailing theories that volunteering is beneficial because it allows someone to focus on something else for a while and may provide useful perspective—your problems don't seem as
bad when you're working with people who don't have enough to eat or a place to call home, for example. To this end, we urge our members to join us in the many programs and services that our organization offers to both the veteran and military communities.
We invite veterans and service members of every age and period of service to join us as we ask other veteran service organization to join with us.. As a reminder, there is never a fee or charge for a vet or service member to attend any USASOA program or service.
