Donate $10 at the door and receive Happy Hour Prices on drinks and food specials all night. Also, we will be raffling off a Basket of Booze with gift certificate to local restaurants and shops on Capitol Hill. At USASOA, the saying, ‘Leave No Veteran Behind’ includes our homeless veterans.

Last winter, United Soldiers and Sailors of America was able to create and distribute over 250 Winter Survival Kits to homeless veterans in the Washington, DC region. Each back pack kit contains nonperishable food items, bottled water, a warm jacket, gloves, a blanket, a wool hat, warm socks, a $10 gift card to 7-11, and more.

This year, our goal is to double that amount but to achieve that goal we will need to once again drawl on the gracious nature of grateful Americans and businesses such as Giants Food Stores, Modell's Sporting Goods, The Brig Beer Garden, St. Arnold's Restaurants, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association and so many individual contributors.

During the first week in December, we will be asking volunteers to once again gather in our Capital Hill office to put all of the Winter Survival Kits together so be on the look out for that event page very soon.

In order to ensure that all survival kits are distributed into the hands of our homeless veterans as quickly as possible, we have once again this year partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Resource Center and Homeless Shelter at 1500 Franklin St NE, Washington, DC 20018
